چکیده

The linear intrinsic anomalous Hall effect (IAHE) and second-order IAHE have been intensively investigated in time-reversal broken systems. However, as one of the important members nonlinear family, investigation third-order remains absent due to lack an appropriate theoretical approach, although extrinsic AHE has studied within framework first- semiclassical theory. Herein, we generalize theory for Bloch electrons under uniform electric field up third order using wave-packet method based on which predict that can also occur Same IAHE, find band geometric quantity, field-dependent Berry curvature arising from field-induced positional shift, plays a pivotal role observation this effect. Moreover, with symmetry analysis, leading contribution, is supported by 15 three-dimensional magnetic point groups, corresponding wide class antiferromagnetic (AFM) materials. Guided arguments, two-band model chosen demonstrate generalized Furthermore, depends only properties bands, implying it be employed explore realistic AFM materials, combining first-principles calculations.

Semiclassical theories of the anomalous Hall effect

Recently, the semiclassical theory of the anomalous Hall effect induced by the Berry curvature in Bloch bands has been introduced. The theory operates only with gauge invariant concepts, that have a simple semiclassical interpretation and provides a clear distinction among various contributions to the Hall current. While the construction of such an approach to the anomalous Hall effect problem ...

Temperature dependence of the intrinsic anomalous Hall effect in nickel

The unusual temperature dependence of the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in Ni is investigated by an experimental approach which enables us to extract the intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity over the whole temperature range. In stark contrast to the existing literature, the intrinsic contribution in Ni is found to be strongly temperature dependent between 5 and 150 K, where the corresponding mag...

Anomalous Hall effect

We present a review of experimental and theoretical studies of the anomalous Hall effect (AHE), focusing on recent developments that have provided a more complete framework for understanding this subtle phenomenon and have, in many instances, replaced controversy by clarity. Synergy between experimental and theoretical work, both playing a crucial role, has been at the heart of these advances. ...

Quantum anomalous Hall effect with higher plateaus.

The quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect in magnetic topological insulators is driven by the combination of spontaneous magnetic moments and spin-orbit coupling. Its recent experimental discovery raises the question if higher plateaus can also be realized. Here, we present a general theory for a QAH effect with higher Chern numbers and show by first-principles calculations that a thin film magne...
